Hakasuo Mill and Nature Trail

Manamansalontie, 88300 Paltamo
Hakasuo Mill is a nationally significant cultural historical site. The Hakasuo nature trail is located by the mill.

The frame of the original sawplaner building that operated as a part of the mill is still in place. The buildings were completed in 1899. Cereals have been ground in the mill for almost a hundred years.

There is a campfire site in the outdoor area and a wall that presents vocabulary from the old Kainuu dialect. The Hakasuo mill is also an interesting destination for fishing enthusiasts.

The nature trail starting from the mill includes a 5.8-km circle trail as well as shorter sections. The terrain on the path is not easy.

The mill and the nature trail are located on road 8820 next to the crossing of River the Varisjoki. The national road between Paltamo and Oulu has signposts guiding visitors to the mill.
