The reliefs of President Urho Kekkonen

Urho Kaleva Kekkonen (1900 – 1986) was the eighth President of the Republic of Finland and lived at Kalliokatu 7 in Kajaani’s Upper Town from 1911 to 1926. The relief of the president’s childhood home can be seen on the outside wall of the house, which was built in 1906.

Urho Kekkonen began his education in Kajaani in 1911 and graduated from Kajaani High School in the spring of 1919. The second relief of Kekkonen is on the outside wall of the Kajaani Lyseo at Väinämöisenkatu 22.
